Highly Ranked Teams Gathering For Bowdoin Park Classic In New YorkPublished by
Elite Teams From New York, New Jersey And Connecticut Converge On Bowdoin Park By John Nepolitan of DyeStat The fall cross country season in the Northeast kicks into high gear this weekend with the first big interstate showdown at the site of the Nike Cross Regional Series New York and Northeast meets the Bowdoin Park Classic in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. The 2020 edition of the meet was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the top teams won't go head to head, as the varsity fields are split in two. But performances on the same course will be readily available for evaluation. The first girls varsity race features Ridgewood NJ, the Northeast No. 1 ranked team. The second girls race includes Corning-Painted Post NY, No. 3 in the New York rankings. That race also includes strong groups from Haddonfield NJ, Northern Highlands NJ, Staples CT and Kent Place NJ. New York's top-ranked boys team and last week's New York Pre-State winner, Corning-Painted Post, will race against Ridgefield CT, the Northeast No. 5 team, Don Bosco Prep NJ, Ridgewood NJ, Westfield NJ, Haddonfield NJ and Greenwich CT. Corning is led by No. 24 individual Jack Gregorski. The second varsity boys race features a showdown between Northeast No. 2 Christian Brothers Academy NJ and Northeast No. 3 Xavier CT. Additionally, Mount Academy NY, Southern Regional NJ, Staples CT and Summit NJ are all entered. |
